Trends in Technology 20 Years From Now
Throughout history, people have always looked to technology to help them in their day to day lives. How has technology helped the world? Technology and science have allowed for more efficient means of communication, transportation, and research. All around the world, people have begun to look toward technology as a way of enriching their lives.
Climate Change The issue of global warming is something that everyone is worried about. Starting in 1988, the first global conference on climate change was held in Hawaii. This meeting brought together more than 2 hundred nations including all the major cities of the world. At this meeting, countries began to put forth their plans on how they will adapt to the changes that are caused by climate change. Since that time, there have been many tech start-ups that have formed to help the world deal with climate change.
Technology and Science Another issue that we have to deal with on a daily basis is pollution. Two decades ago, China started to realize that they needed to do something about the bad air quality that was plaguing their country. So, they developed the technology to create cleaner cars. India, also started using mobile technology to communicate more effectively, conduct investigations, track their troops, and gather intelligence. As the years have gone by, technology and science have been used to help fight pollution and stop the depletion of the planet's natural resources. Two decades ago, only those in the biggest cities would have been able to access some of these technologies; today, everyone can use them thanks to the various start-ups that have been created.
Communication There have been many advancements made when it comes to communication. We now have the ability to send messages, call others, and share pictures with the world using the internet. In two decades, we had the ability to send e-mails, surf the web, and chat with friends around the world.
AI Although this is probably one of the most advanced technologies in two decades, artificial intelligence already has an impact on society. AI is computer technology that mimics the functions of a human brain in order to achieve a set goal. One example is how computers are now able to beat the most seasoned gamers at chess. This is because of artificial intelligence.
AI will continue to be a part of technology for many years to come. A good example of this is artificial intelligence. We already have facial recognition in our smartphones. A new tech startup called Face Ventures is developing an artificial intelligence system that will allow you to browse the web using only your eyes. In two years, the tech startup expects to roll out an entire line of consumer electronics using facial recognition technology.
Drones We live in an exciting time in technology. In five years, artificially intelligent drones will be in control of many jobs. Drones will be in charge of picking fruits from the tree and picking vegetables from the garden. The future may bring even more amazing technologies and our lives will never be the same again.
AI assisted helicopters are going to help farmers and landscape maintenance companies protect their assets and increase crop production. Military researchers are using drones in Afghanistan to deliver supplies and drop off troops. Although there are many military applications for artificially intelligent aerial vehicles, the most important one will likely be for helping the general public by helping them with their gardens.
augmented reality This tech is still relatively new but it is rapidly growing. It uses information from the real world to create illusions. For example, you could buy a pair of glasses with an image of yourself inside them. If you put the glasses on your face, they would help make you look thinner or bigger. This will be especially popular with the fitness industry.
VR or virtual reality There is no telling what technology will look like in five years or ten years. However, there are some interesting trends emerging. One of them is virtual reality. Researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology have created a device that will allow users to navigate within digital worlds. By using a video camera to record the experience, you could then have your own virtual reality experience.
AI autonomous vehicles We may be able to see self-driving cars or trucks in our future. This tech has already existed for several years but it will be a major advancement in ten years. Two decades from now, self-driving cars will be safer, more reliable, and more efficient. They will be able to negotiate tricky roads, turn in the opposite direction of traffic, and avoid collisions. This technology will only become more commonplace in the next two or three decades.
